I was worried that these would be cheezy and stamped out but they're not. I've bought rum ration cups in the past which were kind of shoddy. The quality of these is very good. They have no seam. The handles are made from a tube of copper so it has a little volume and feels nice to hold -- not just a strip of copper. The rivets that join the handle to the mug are solid and smoothed on the inside. The rim is rounded over completely, no rough edges. The gauge of the copper is decent. (don't have calipers but it's to be at least 22 mil or 24 gauge).I gave these four stars which might not be fair because I intended to use them for more than rum. I had planned these to be dedicated beverage cups and stamped in initials for each family member. However, if you're not using these for rum there are some things to consider… Don't drink hot liquid out of them. It's tempting. Sample a small quantity of what you are going to drink before committing to a mug full - they can affect the flavor of what you are drinking. I was thinking eggnog would be perfect (as in copper bowls used for eggs) but it wasn't - the copper imparted a weird taste. It was also going to be my new beer stein but I swear the beer got flat. Red wine? Nope. Caveat: I could be wrong about the copper interfering with the beverage flavor and discover it's just a coating / treatment that needs to wear off. I'm suspicious of this because they remain beautifully shiny like new pennies months later (though mine is getting the dark patina on the inside). I love the way they look and I'm determined to see if they are less reactive with time. I will upgrade this review if I've judged them unfairly. In the meantime who could gripe about having to drink Moscow Mules.I looked for quite awhile for just the right Mule mugs, was nearly fooled several times by advertisements for "solid copper" mugs that weren't and nearly bought a set that were solid copper, but had handles that were reportedly only loosely braised to the cup. I had some concerns about the comments about these cups arriving dented, being hard to keep clean, etc. But, mine arrived in perfect condition, they are solid copper, the handles are fabulous, the size is excellent (one or two mules in these cups will do ya!), and I've been able to keep mine bright and shiny so far by simply rinsing and drying after my last drink. By the way, its copper, folks...don't be completely surprised if you see a little tarnish...DUH....Great product, great price, I'd definitely buy another set as a gift.I had a few issues with the shipping. The company was responsive and very polite. They do not come in the box as pictured above. Two of mine had dents in them,I told the company and sent pictures, they mail me two new ones and a prepaid return postage label. The chups are large, solid copper and beautiful. Freezing cold Moscow Mules guaranteed! These are or wedding favors to the bridal party since Moscow mules are or signature drinkI got this set for my husband who loves Moscow Mules. It's the one gift I always hear him telling his buddies how awesome a gift it was.***I made sure to give all the ingredients for the drink w/ the cups so he could make one on Christmas;)We have been drinking tons more now that we have the proper accessories. Before we were drinking out of whatever we could find, old shoes, novelty hats, old yogurt cups. Now that we have these very nice copper cups we have been hitting the sauce hard, and boy has it been paying off!!. My wife says I am much more interesting now, and we have been having riveting conversations about all sorts of things ranging from strange smells from the microwave to savory chewing gums (I pitched mushroom gravy) These are very well made and quite nice!Love the modern copper mug but super hard to clean! Tried everything nothing cleans them completely without spending a lot of time doing.This was my birthday gift to myself!! I fell back in love with the Moscow Mule and wanted them at home for the summer :) I only used them twice since I'm not much of a hard drink person, but when the occasion strikes me I know I can have an authentic one in my own home.The product is very beautiful, but spots easily. I wouldn't recommend putting them through the dishwasher and do dry them immediately.I rubbed the outside because I was concerned that it was coated with something that I shouldn't be ingesting. It lost its sheen predictably. It kinda taste metallic when you drink water from it.
